AMATEUR TALENT SHOW

Each spring we conduct the Annual Hemphill
Lions Club Amateur Talent Show. This community event allows
local amateur talent to perform and compete for cash prizes.
Over the years we have had some fantastic talent and always a
good time with song, dance, and theatrical talent showcased
alongside the comical hosting of local Master of Ceremony
personalities.
No entry fee for contestants.
Tickets are available at the door with all
proceeds going to support our local projects.

HAUNTED HOUSE

Each fall we conduct the Annual Hemphill
Lions Club Haunted House, "A Nightmare on Barber Street". This
event is for the thrill seeker in everyone from young to the not
so young! A cast of scary characters inhabits our
Barber Street location near downtown Hemphill. After an escorted
tour through the winding maze inside the house,
trick-or-treaters are taken outside for a hike down our spooky
trail.
Early tours available for young children
before dark with full on scariness after dark.
Tickets available at the door with all
proceeds going to support our local projects.

CHRISTMAS PARADE
The first Saturday in December marks the kick off of the holiday
season in Hemphill Texas as the Hemphill Lions Club presents the
annual Christmas Parade. A free community event featuring the
areas high school bands, civic organizations, business
community, and others who wish to participate and celebrate the
season.

Beginning with a line-up at Hornet Stadium the parade makes its
first appearance on Sabine Street (Hwy 87/83) at the corner of
Smith and Sabine Streets and then proceeds to the historic
courthouse square.

Immediately following the parade is a community gathering of
festivities including the high school band and childrens choir
performances by the area schools. The evening is ended with a
give-away of a bicycle to each a boy and girl who are present
and have received a free drawing ticket.
